Needle Felting Journey: Thinking Warm Thoughts

Is it winter where you are? Well here in Thunder Bay Canada, it isn't official but it is cold enough to make me nose cold, causing me to consider carrying on with the Needle Felting Journey I began a year or two ago. Makes sense then to wan to sin my fingers into soft and cuddly Merino wool. Thought I would share the few videos that I made in the beginning. It just might spur me on to begin using the plethora of roving that I purchased back then. It is worth learning about if you like learning new art making skills.

Maybe I will have some new needle felt pieces or learn with me videos soon.  Oh right, once I get those new jewellery pieces created for my Etsy Shop and the rest of the beads and mini figurines that I was thinking of creating.

POLYMER CLAY JOURNEY: My Compilation Of Polymer Clay Figures So Far....

I was watching a great broadcast that mentioned polymer clay figure making. That got me thinking about the few I have had fun making. Since I have created some, I thought I would make a compilation posting of my clay figures so far. I included the original post links and videos (for the ones I made videos for.)
A Side Thought Or Two On Originality.
Sculpting figures makes a great personalized gift of love. I prefer to do people I know and not characters. Years ago in College, we had it drilled into our heads about copyright so I always worry about breaching it. I would love to hear from anyone who knows how people copy trademarked or copyrighted images in clay, drawings, and other forms and avoid copyright infringement. The one key thing we were taught (in an Arts Administration program, was that the belief, if you aren't making money from it, it is okay to copy (in that class they specifically talked about music. Our Professor even said that technically, it was breaking copyright to even sing a song off the radio without permission/licensing fees. That class was twenty five years ago, maybe laws have slackened? As an art mentor, I always encourage budding young artists to be original. But, many grew up copying favourite characters from games, videos and such. Then I tell them it is okay to be inspired by other artists, but alter the image and make it your own. Be original guys. It is worth it!

Turtle Spotlight: Need an idea? Make A Turtle

When I used to hear the jingle, "turtles, Turtles, yah, yah, yah,....Why (or was it Oh,) I love Turtles...." My mouth watered because those Turtles are laced with caramel, pecans and milk chocolate! Every try them? Okay, drool must stop now....These days, since I first met the biggest turtle lover that I know, the ever inspiring Luke, aka Jonathan Artman! Not only does he have a pet turtle, he makes them out of polymer clay. His love of the cute reptiles h as helped inspire me to make some turtles. You have seen them before, but I want to share mine and some of Luke's many Turtles made of polymer clay, in hope that anyone out there who may be seeking a subject to create, may be inspired to think Turtle! Or just go get some of those caramel kind!

POLYMER CLAY TRAILS...The Creation Of ArTee The Sea Turtle

Thanks to my recent computer crashes, I am unable to post anything consistently. Even right now I type this praying my computer won't croak before I am done :o) Forgive me if it is too short on details. I don't want to take to long, just incase.
Meet ARTEE The Sea Turtle! 
Artee took about three weeks to make. He was adopted by our dear young friend. We wanted to give him a special gift. Here is in his full fashion grade eight graduation ensemble.
